The pretty Cheshire village that's home to a 'delicious' bakery where Harry Styles used to work

Day trips are a fantastic way to spend a weekend, and one destination proving popular is the beautiful county of Cheshire.

So why not head up there and visit the village in which Harry Styles grew up?

This will be common knowledge amongst the true fans, but before auditioning for The X Factor, the star used to work in his local bakery.

That bakery is of course still open today, just two hours from London.

Up north in the countryside, you'll find Harry's former work place in the lovely village of Holmes Chapel.

Before he rose to international fame, the Watermelon Sugar singer worked at W Mandeville Bakery.

Harry worked at the bakery in the heart of the village as a Saturday job during his early teen years, before One Direction formed when he was just 16.

Obviously, you won't spot him working there now, but they do have a huge picture of him inside that fans will visit for photos. Plus, it's also an excellent bakery regardless.

A traditional craft bakers and grocery store, W Mandeville has been in Holmes Chapel since 1900- that's 94 years before Mr Styles was born.

With a loyal following of One Direction and Harry fans, it's unsurprising to hear the bakery has a 4.9 star rating on Google. Other than the notes about the singer's presence, reviews say it is 'delicious', the 'pastries are to die for' and you 'can't beat their sausage rolls'.

If you're not a fan of Harry, or of bakeries, there's plenty of other things to get up to around the village.

Take a trip to the gorgeous Boundary Park. It's a delightful view but also the perfect spot for some open water swimming and reviews say it is 'especially good' for people who are new to the activity.

Another popular spot is the Twemlow Viaduct. A Grade II listed building, it is an impressive sight in the countryside with twenty arches on the red brick railway adjacent to a pretty river.

Also in the picturesque countryside on the edge of the village, is the beloved Bidlea Dairy Farm.

The award-winning, family-run farm is newly home to an ice cream farm where you can enjoy stunning views of the Cheshire landscape.

You might want to wrap up a little now the weather is colder, but it's still worth visiting the farm, seeing the cows and enjoying a proper ice cream with a view.

They also have a vending machine where you can fill your bottle with fresh milk and even milkshakes.

Rated 4.3 stars on Google, many reviews note that it's a great trip for kids. Visitors say the 'prices are very reasonable', one said 'best ice cream I've ever had' and is 'top class delicious produce'.

After indulging in ice cream, baked goods and going for a swim, treat yourself even more and visit a 'gem' of a pub.

The Fox and Hounds at Sproston is Tripadvisor's number one resturant in Holmes Chapel.

The Cheshire country pub serve fresh food using local produce.

Reviews say it is a 'magical piece of Cheshire' with 'plentiful' meals and 'excellent service'.
